A Forest Banquet.

A couple days late, but still worth sharing. The Forestry Bureau (林務局 FB/TWforest) encourages us to leave nature to its own new year feast.

The Forestry Bureau’s (#林務局) 2021 calendar is on sale now - and will probably sell out very quickly.

This calendar transports us to the superb Shei-Pa Nat Pk (雪霸國家公園 #SPNP). Home to Snow Mountain (雪山, accessed from Wuling Farm 武陵農場), and Daba (大霸尖山) shown here and on the NT$ 500 bill.

The landlocked salmon are easier to see than this Tawny Fish Owl (黃魚鴞)!!!

Birders should try to appreciate all forms of life.

Butterflies, dragonflies, mammals, and plants are the obvious subjects. The #Taiwan Forestry Bureau’s #林務局 November calendar suggests #snails.

There I was, earlier today - my Canon in hand, good light, lovely birds coming in to eye-level fruiting bushes, friendly Taiwanese birders on my left and right...and #r4today discussing the %*£¥€ thing.
