Still building the form but I'm trying to draw Mariya.
Since she likes to take naps a lot, I was thinking something like yawning and stretching. I think the composition at least looks decent

I fixed some proportions and am just about done with the base colors.
Still playing around with the bg composition too.
I need to keep tweaking the twin tails too.
Plaid is pain...

Still thinking about the light source and time of day. I should also probably lock in what kind of feeling I want to inspire from this too.
I decided on fairy pomu on her desk to be a little whimsical and it fixes my issue of BG complexity
