We're only a few hours away from the real #LadyShivanniversary and we only have one last writer to talk about. We've seen all the positive contributions of all her major writers and it's all lead up to this question:
What is the best thing Denny O'Neil ever did for Lady Shiva?
Send this fella some love (and $$$)! https://t.co/wcM60x7cgC
... the truth of the matter is that compared to the mindless servant of the League of Assassins that a lot of people seem to think she is, Shiva under Dixon bowed to nobody, even in the face of death.
And to me that's the best and maybe the only good thing Dixon did for Shiva.
But my problem with that, my eternal problem with Dixon, is that as much as he kept using Shiva, each and every single one of those uses just got worse and worse. I'm very confident in saying there is no good Lady Shiva by Dixon.
But.
But he did do something right.
As before, I'm sorely tempted to just say "got Brian Bolland to draw Shiva kicking the shit out of Tim" and leave it at that, but dammit, we're trying to be positive! And since Dixon has the second most Shiva appearances written under his belt, there has to be *something!*
It's time. With only two writers left in our #LadyShivanniversary retrospective, we have reached the greatest challenge of them all. The ultimate trial. The deadliest test.
What is the best thing Chuck Dixon ever did with or for Lady Shiva?
It's pretty fortuitous that the TL is talking about Cass Cain right now, because tonight's #LadyShivanniversary post is all about her best run. Like the rest, it all boils down to one simple question:
What is the best thing Kelley Puckett did for Lady Shiva?
There's a number of possible answers to this, but in my eyes, the best thing Simone did for Shiva was try to ease her into the wider DC Universe. Rather than just sticking to Batman and Batman-adjacent characters, Simone's Shiva was given the chance to spread her wings...
