What's interesting about the Direct Market Edition cover of the Thunderbolts Omnibus is that it's a weird combination of 2 old covers - '97 Annual and #0.
It... doesn't really make sense. They're tearing through themselves now, not their past, as in the original 97 annual cover.
Did anyone else read this Nick Fury book?
I'd bet it might have been Marvel's lowest selling title at the time, but I would have loved a giant treasury edition to show off all the amazing double-page spreads better.
It makes me sad this was near the end of the series, because I absolutely would have read more content with this team.
Looking forward to what Eve Ewing does with Champions when comics starts back up, and what Luciano does on New Warriors.
If you just want to read one issue to try the series out, check out issue 6 or 7.
6 is a one-off story where Riri helps Miles Morales out of a jam.
7 is a team-up with the Unstoppable Wasp to fight zombies and it's awesome.
This is pure Clint. Literally any time he's written well, from Avengers to Fraction's run to Freefall, this element is there. He puts himself in situations with no plan other than a determination to fight his way out.
@LetsTalkBarton I like this version better, but both are fun.
If you're looking for a good Halloween-ish comic, you could do worse than @jeffparker's Heroic Age Thunderbolts run. Kev Walker and Declan Shalvey deliver some great art, and the team in the latter half is basically a legion of monsters. Starts at issue 144.
