Watch the anime instead. Don't read the manga. The manga is a mess to read and strip Jun from her main character status at some point (with other weird stuff). Anime has a better focus on it's plot and best of all... kaiju demon fights!
On a rare occasion I think about the DOA movie. Jann got his ass kicked. Helena isn't French. Hayabusa is Kasumi's bitch cuz she acts like a princess. Bass thinks Tina is a lesbian due to awkward timings. And Ayane does what game Ayane couldn't, make out with her brother.
