Peaceful summer nights...

I may have to get back in to watercolor kaiju pieces soon because they’re a lot of fun. Here’s three different ones from last year at various times.

Touched up my Varan piece (Eye is a little bigger, more teeth), and then made a variant to fit the film's black and white charm.

Gargantua brothers vs Gezora! Really enjoyed coloring this one and tried not to focus so hard on being a perfectionist and just had fun. Wanted to go for that classic stormy, water's-edge battle vibe and color grading of 60's-70's Toho adventures.

(Fun fact, Baltan was the first kaiju I did in this series)

I feel like from those first two early pieces to the last couple I learned a decent bit on working in this style and lighting/manipulating the color. My quick drawings also got much more detailed and better angled.
