Actually Mafuyu was scared because after hearing Ugetsu's dramatic story with Akihiko it reminded him his sad story with Yuki since both ended bad because of lack of COMMUNICATION,and so he wanted Ritsuka to explain him what was wrong to not make the same mistakes!

In the manga Mafuyu was more gripping at Ritsuka's bag so it's really sweet to see that in the OAV they clearly showed he was gripping desperately directly at his arm with both his hands fearing to lose him expressing how much he needed him more than anything else

In the CD drama you could hear Ritsuka's shoes' stressing noise as he turned around Mafuyu showing him he was angry even if he couldnt say exactly why,Mafuyu was his first love he was still awkward and easily frustrated because his feelings for him were so intense
