Interesting points about the Dead Apple stage play coming from interviews with the main cast/director:
-Asagiri wrote the script to bring new revelations,some missing scenes were included
-Chuuya's Dragon fight is epic
-The relationship between the characters is intense

The Red Apple is the forbidden fruit related to temptation and sin,it came from The tree of life also called "The tree of souls" where souls blossom,and looking at Dazai and Chuuya sleeping together with one awake feels like their other half is always watching over them

Dead Apple is low key telling a fairytale of Snow White with Dazai eating poison and Chuuya fighting a Dragon,further a Red Apple is the symbol of Love and Death,Dazai and Chuuya could have died together in a lover's double suicide,the movie is truly their romantic story
