Tea plants can be fragile, meaning that if a farmer gets a lot of snow one winter, they have to go out and gently brush the snow off the plants to make sure the weight doesn't break branches!

Pu'er teas (or pu-erh) come from a specific region in Yunnan - near Pu'er City! Just like champagne, only teas from this area can be called "pu'er," whereas similar teas from outside this area are called "dark" or "fermented black" teas!

The saying "two leaves and a buds" comes from the tea business! The top two leaves (and a bud) are taken during harvest season, as new leaves are softer and more robust in flavors! Older leaves tend to have harder, unwanted tasting notes.

Great question! Tea that goes "bad" really just goes "stale." You won't be able to really smell it when you open the bag, and when you brew it, it'll taste dulled down.
