Had a small hiatus over the weekend. Motivation has been a bit low. But guess what I just finished watching… just like everyone else. Lol! #CyberpunkEdgerunners
Going more messy and avoiding being a perfectionist is good for me… I may be getting somewhere. It also helps that Basara is a cool character. #SamuraiShodown
Sticking with the #SamuraiShodown trend. Going with another classic character #Nakoruru.
Pretty much slowly making my way through the entire #SamuraiShodown cast. One thing I’ve noticed while doing this is that they all have super cool hair. It’s definitely a requirement to be a samsho character. Anyway, got Genjuro for today.
Then I add in a background and we’ve got a completed Sogetsu from #SamuraiShodown. Also because of the multiply layers I have to make sure the background doesn’t overlap any of my colors. So I use the magic wand tool to select any background areas on my ink layer before coloring.
Then I just color everything in. I make sure all layers are set to multiply so the shadows work. Then after it’s colored I add a layer above all the colored layers and do the highlights. I just use white and then lower the opacity a tad.
Then with that selection I go to my shadow layer and cut out the shadows where the skin had been colored. I create a new layer and paste that to it. Then I colorize and change the hue of those shadows to be more reddish instead of gray. This step helps the skin look more alive.
