Graficus, schilder en tekenaar Frans Post (1612-1680) werd geboren in Haarlem. Hij vergezelde Johan Maurits van Nassau naar de kortstondige NL kolonie in Brazilië. Terug in Nederland woonde hij in Haarlem. Deze prenten naar Posts tekeningen zijn gemaakt door Jan Borsterhuyzen.
