it seems like the misconception (going from "they look like these animals" to "they are these animals") stems from the translation for KDL2's manual; game boy boxes are much smaller outside of japan, so the manual had to be a lot more blunt, losing that nuance
fucked up finding out that the changed description for KDL2 is because in japanese they were insistent that the animal friends were never real animals even in the 90s
the kirby café artstyle is usually sort of minimalist but this art from the 2016 run is neat because it feels way closer to the kind of art you see in the actual games. i wonder if this was like, a proof of concept?
i think it's somewhat common knowledge that nova's KSSU art is missing its globe but i also just noticed it seems to be based on the post-battle damaged design (one eye more closed than the other, the top right part fully exposed) which is interesting
love that this is the clickbait art they chose actually it's a great piece
do you think they would have canonized dedede burst if dedede was playable in another kirby game between SSB4 and SSBU
oh hold on dude i need to pause for chameleo arm lore (pauses and it just says "Inhale enemies to copy their abilities!") what the fuck
average "Flowing Forward" fan versus average "Into the Underground Waterway" enjoyer
mr. dooter references the famous japanese joke "red snake, come on!" which involved a guy in an arabian outfit who summoned red, yellow, and green snakes. mr. dooter has red snakes, mr. dooter EX has yellow snakes, i'm entirely convinced the remake only exists to complete the bit
