creating a sensation. Follow in her footsteps as she recounts her world tour through our collection. You’ll be able to see, hear, smell and learn how Clara lived and what she did. You will also be able to find out how to help save rhinos for the future.

Can you believe the Museum has been open for a month already! Time flies when you’re having fun! A month from today the Adventures of Clara will arrive at #TheBowesMuseum. In 1738 Clara was the most famous rhinoceros in Europe. She travelled the world inspiring people and 1/2

in building this stunning chateau to house them. We are forever grateful to her for the legacy she & her husband left to the people of Teesdale and beyond!

Today we celebrate the 196th birthday of our fantastic founder #JoséphineBowes. She was a determined woman who conquered the arts & was exhibited at the famous Paris Salon exhibition. She inspired John Bowes in amassing the wonderful objects we have in our collection today & 1/2
