Quake Wars: Enemy Territory is a humorous example of the stereotypical 'gray & brown' 00s shooter. Though despite this critique - the screenshots betray a meticulous eye for composition and detail.
Titanfall's plot should've had a greater emphasis on SpyGlass, it's so unique and has the most potential to motivate the stories of other characters.
SpyGlass, a strategic AI that the Legions of the IMC obey, seemingly without question, to the point of the Remnant Fleet developing as a nigh-rogue entity. A master with ambitions unknown... Marvelous narrative villain design, dramatically versatile and suitably ponderous.
I'd avoid rebooting Halo, but I'd aggressively retcon, reframe and recontextualize media for incoming audiences. I feel the modern Halo fan is too selfish, and this is a decision that is above ego. Many 'beloved' aspects...did not work. In good business, bad products are cut.
Crossbone Vanguard strategy of incurring minimal damage to colonies during capture operations, was good fluff/lore for justifying the design novelties the new suits would incorporate.
The Crossbone Vanguard were the Zeon-clones that were truly worthy replacements. Admirable attempt at replicating the magic behind the OG villains.
Killzone's original aesthetic, especially the key art, had compositions that really flexed the gray, brown pallette. Though arguably derivative, the designs were used effectively. Clear, yet muddy, dense, yet focused.
