1. The Aquatope on White Sand
I've been praising this series to the high heavens for about half a year and like with Dynazenon, just seeing its cast change and grow throughout made for such a rewarding watch. It's also gorgeous, and goddamn heartbreaking, and goofy af. Good show
2. SSSS Dynazenon
I liked Gridman but it didn't fully click with me like this followup did. It was such a joy seeing its cast grow and change over the course of the series, and the action was as good and expertly directed as ever. It's easily my favorite Trigger series yet.
4. Sonny Boy
I wouldn't have expected the One Punch Man director to spit something as interesting and abstract as this (yeah he did Space Dandy too), but man this one hit all the right notes for me...and has a killer soundtrack. Thanks Watanabe you absolute legend.
5. Blue Period
This show could have looked like absolute shit (and it arguably does), and it would still be here, it does such a great job capturing the anxiety of the creative process and has a wonderful coming of age tale to boot.
I dunno bought y'all but for next season i'm most hyped for the Ninjala adaptation from
*checks notes*
The director for Elfen Lied and Promised Neverland...
While also having the writer for
*checks notes again*
To Your Eternity....
i guess we'll count the golf show from ssss dynazenon's animation director as the first thing from 2022 i watched...even though it's just a short film.
for what it is, it's alright, would like to see more
and it's cool seeing dynazenon style shots/characters playing golf lol
