Four games I want to pick up between now and the end of March. There’s so many others being released, but these are my four most wanted!

My gaming year has started with an awesome binge of Switch indie games. Such a cool variety of gameplay, stories and themes. I’m truly baffled at people that choose to just ignore indies.

I shall be going to cinema on my own to watch Spider-Man No Way Home, and I’m very much ok with that (wife not interested enough to justify a babysitter). Just hoping it lives up to the hype!

Metroid Dread then… overall it was pretty good. I grew to love the EMMI sections, the bosses are brilliant and the core gameplay loop will always be compelling fun. But it felt quite dated and safe. It was very predictable and looked quite bland. It’s a 7/10 for me.

Dread’s success tells Nintendo they can put any of their niche franchises (F Zero, Kid Icarus, etc) on Switch and expect to sell at least 2m copies. Given third party support is over, they need to partner with other devs and get these games made (eg @ShinenGames for F Zero?)
