The Pack characters went through various name changes during development. Jack & the Pack was originally to be called "Helpful Harry & Friends", Oliver & Buster had their names switched, Ned was a female named "Sophie" & even Elizabeth (not a pack member) was originally "Grumpy".
In the original story, Donald & Douglas clear the line infront of Thomas, while James & Edward pull Thomas & the Christmas Tree free from the opposite end. At Tidmouth, the 4 of them are thanked by Santa for rescuing Thomas.

Mattel genuinely thought these looked good and approved them. No wonder the brand's been on the decline since.
Imagine if this engine from Christopher Awdry's book, 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘳, was Bloomer.
As a kid, the Snow Song made me think there was a S5 episode that I hadn't seen before; where Sir Topham Hatt almost freezes to death & his grandchildren accidently turn him into a snowman without knowing its him.
