Even though they're slightly spooky we are fascinated by these Lancashire 'Pendle' witches. This illustration by Sir John Gilbert shows 'The Incantation' - a group of witches around a cauldron with several animals eagerly watching on. 💫🔥

This beautiful but shocking illustration showing a brain aneurysm, is by medical artist Dorothy Davison. From 1918 - 1957 she worked at illustrating books and scientific papers mainly for neurosurgeon Geoffrey Jefferson.
