Less a secret and moreso a blatant rip-off, I send to use a lot of visual stuff from HK comics I really like.
For example, Tiago's Taino Trigger giving him Sea Tiger-esque stripes and Schaffer's sword beaing a resemblance to The Ultimate Sword from Storm Riders. https://t.co/Uqtn1Lv63i

@OhBigSlappy Be lucky that weren't up against this dirty old fecker. You would've been smoked 6 ways from Sunday.
@ianmacewan Hmm, that does check out. Popular styles get copied and what not all the time. Though I still have hold onto my belief of specifically chomping at Ma Wing-Shing's style for the first listed exmaple.
I mean, My God. That's Just Wind And Cloud Right There.
I have a few theories:
1. These were weekly comics with TONS of detailed art, so they probably had to skimp on detailed character designs for the sake of putting these out.
2. Probably harkens to an old peasant look?
3. Everyone wanted to rip off Cloud from Storm Riders.
Random thing I've noticed in a lot of Manhua: There's tons of comics where the dresscode of the day is tight tanktop, heavy belt, Diesel jeans with boots and usually a cape or sash
What is up with that?
9. Another manhua by the Sea Tiger crew.
A dramatic, down to Earth story about B-Ballers.
Still kinda gets wild towards the end, but trust me: No Electro-Magnetic Waves to be found here.
