Thread of Concept Art for “Oz The Great and Powerful” by Michael Kutsche.

Here’s a few cool concept art pieces that I’ve located online, thanks to animator Nathan Love!

This concept art by Jack Martin Smith served as inspiration for MGM classic “The Wizard of Oz” in 1939. I was shocked by the colors and designs seen here, they’re so muted, yet uniquely fairy-tale-esque.

The Dreamer of Oz (1990)

Out of all of the Oz themed films, this has to be one of my favorites. It’s the story of L. Frank Baum, and I find it to be extremely charming. The film has a great cast & lots of heart.
