I promised some people on Instagram to upload color references for these two. So... Here we go :) I decided that Khan's people have muted colors, since they evolved from apex predators that needed to blend in with their surroundings in order to hunt.

I still haven't figured out Khan's fur color... Or a good name for the story. 😂 Everything I can think of sounds like something John Green would've written. Like "The Light of Our Stars" or "Collide"... Yeah. I'm not good at this.
