In Pokemon Origins, it seems that Red's Mom took some design inspiration from her anime counterpart, Delia Ketchum. Note that her hair was changed from dark-blue to a light-brown. She also went from long(?) hair to a ponytail like Delia.

4. Scrappy Doo (Yes really, though after Scooby joins)

-Sora joins Super Smash Bros.
-Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania, and Metroid Dread is released.
-A remake of Ib is announced for next year.

The biggest disappointment I got from the Smash Direct - and this is kinda stretching it - was the Mii Fighter Costumes. Besides Doom Slayer, the other two were just hats.

Considering Sora, why not Riku, Kairi, Aqua, and/or Ventus? Maybe Mona from WarioWare? Dread Suit Samus?

@Leebondoop It's very noticeable in the Wii U/3DS era. Ashley has three unique 3DS themes, and Nintendo Badge Arcade not only gave her exclusive badges, but also announced an April Fools day game titled "Crazy Galaxy."

At least the others got to appear in the Majora's Mask badge crossover.

What if Nintendo made a Mario game - mainline or spin-off - that added characters and locations from the Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Wario Land, and WarioWare universes?

@BobbyOnTheCobby Good question... I'm thinking they would go with her Ocarina of Time/Hyrule Warriors look. Fast and strong but lightweight, like Mewtwo.
With her four arms, The Wind Waker one could be interesting.
The Breath of the Wild ones could maybe function like a heavy Bowser Jr?
