To that end, I really would like to see SaDistic Blood’s english release do well. It’s a short game with a price to match, but it’s everything BlackCyc tied up in a gory little bow. And if this works, it could open the floodgates for some of their older, longer, beloved works.
Ever since the 2010s, BlackCyc have kind of been on and off - they’re constantly updating their titles with releases for newer operating systems, and it seems every so often the creative minds behind it get the urge to release something new for it; like SaDistic BlooD.
A lot of their games are considered classics of the time, like MinDeaD Blood and Gore Screaming Show. Sadly they kind of fell off in the 2010s, with only a handful of games - the biggest one being Extravaganza -Mushigurui hen- , a sequel to one of their renowned classic titles.
For example, MinDeaD Blood has you controlling the actions of several vampires. Where you place them will decide with whom they’ll interact as they gradually turn humans in the city into Vampires. Gun Katana had FPS gameplay. They really experimented around.
Their games also took place in the same world for the most part, with some cameos between games. They draw inspiration from Lovecraftian horror, with some of their games inching into the territory of oppressive, otherworldly terror and a sense of distorted reality.
BlackCyc are an eroge developer that was mostly active in the 2000s. They made a real brand for themselves with their unique blend of horror and guro, entwined with legitimately touching stories and an aesthetic that can only be described as ‘black metal’.
I will accept no arguments or backtalking on this matter. https://t.co/l994m5lrDH
Beatrice Waltrud von Kircheisen is underappreciated, underrepresented and extremely good.
