The coaster currently known as The Bat, opened 1993. Known as Top Gun from 1993-2007, then as Flight Deck from 2008-2013. Also not the first “Bat” in the park: the original Bat, also a steel suspended coaster, was open from 1981-1983. Whew!

6 days to Kings Island’s opening day!
Yet another milestone, happy 20th to Invertigo, opened 1999! Known as Face/Off from 1999-2007.

Today’s coaster: Backlot Stunt Coaster, opened 2005, known as Italian Job: Stunt Track from 2005-2007.

Diamondback, opened 2009. Happy 10th anniversary to the park’s tallest and fastest!

Figured a countdown to opening day would be a good excuse to do little doodles of all my personified Kings Island coaster designs. They’ll be posted “youngest” to “oldest”.

So here’s Mystic Timbers, opened 2017.

Mystic Timbers is a tree witch, who’s very protective of her territory and isn’t afraid to sic her beloved pets on intruders. Has a thing for 80s music.
