I'll say it. The Monsterverse designs for other monsters are pretty fucking boring compared to what we saw in the animated show. These mutants feel more like creatures from another time that just happen to look like real-life counterparts, than the ones that are meant to be such.
Life Stages of V. rex from The World of Kong. Imagine the arguments about the third one if we found its fregmentary remains and the arguments about whether it's a third member of the Venatosaurus genus, or just a juvenile V. rex.
Well, it turns out the last episode of #Primal kind of adds to this theory, there's probably another type of goo that turns its victims into super zombies. I'm saying this because it has a similar spiraling affect on the eye, just like the dark goo. https://t.co/KtHS1koAdA
Unpopular opinion, but I prefer toy figure Ghidorah's proportions over the movie version's. The whole thing just looks more intimidating, especially next to Godzilla. The thicc thighs and small heads comes off goofy (like the original design) during the end.
That keyhole shaped pupil was specifically designed for Smaug to make it look distinctive from every other reptile eyes, when you see it for the first time. It was designed by John Howe.
My latest #Primal fanart. This time, the raptor.

Another one of my #Primal fanart, as a what if the show was pulp more at its core and had more progressive dino designs. Definitely the best animated show of the year.

Just a fun little take on the amazing Primal's Fang, as a "what if" the show kept its pulp vibes more in its themes while being more progressive on dinosaur designs. Tried to keep the show's aesthetics.
This show is gorgeous.
