Now more clearly visible, thanks to new footage released during the past weekend’s #DestinationD23, is this structure inspired by Walt’s Carolwood Barn, seen here in “Tokyo Go” (2013), and in reality.
Happy birthday to the big cheese himself; the leader of the club; the scrappy little rascal who stole our hearts and in the process took the world by storm! Happy 93rd #MickeyMouse!
But not just characters from the immediate Mickey Mouse universe—what of the Three Little Pigs? Toby Tortoise and Max Hare? Ferdinand the Bull? Elmer Elephant!? There’s a veritable smorgasbord of classic material to pull from!!
At the same time I’d love to see an increased presence for some of the older characters as well, like Pete, Horace Horsecollar, Hyacinth Hippo, Mortimer Mouse, the Mad Doctor, Spike the Bee, José and Panchito, Oswald, and Gremlin Gus!
One thing I hope they take this opportunity to do is properly integrate characters from the Disney Afternoon into the space. Technically Gadget already has a presence, but imagine Scrooge’s Money Bin off in the distance, the Ranger Plane in a tree, print ads for Higher for Hire!
Plus, I spotted this little bugger in the fountain! So it seems like we’ll be in good hands!
Say, who’s this handsome devil?? Why it’s none other than yours truly!

Shhhh, pretend it’s yesterday…
Happy birthday professor!! Today marks 60 years since the television debut of “Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color,” and with it, the arrival of Disney’s first television star, the eccentric, the enigmatic, Professor Ludwig Von Drake!
@EeyorbEdgelord AHHHHH!!!! I positively LOVE it!!! Here’s my first pass from back in 2014. I’ve been trying to do an updated version ever since, but can just never bring myself to finish it.
