about 5 years ago i wrote and illustrated a short childrens book for a personal group project, but as none of us are in contact and i don't wanna associate w them anymore, i'm thinking of redoing the entire book with better illustrations now that i've improved!

The subtle difference between 15-16 y/o Zen artwork vs. 23-24 y/o Zen artwork 😳 My painting is a lot more controlled and I have a better understanding of how to place colour so I don’t rely so much on blending everything together anymore!

Trying not to pass away from embarrassment but I just wanted to show you guys that MY ART USED TO LOOK LIKE THIS OKAY 😭 Making cringey bad stuff is part of the journey!!

Anyways, I'm still cringey and edgy now too as you can see, so don't worry!! Just have fun!!!

I'm curious: how have your physical shortcomings been turned into strengths in your art?

EG, my illustrations are painterly with distinct brush strokes, while my designs are simple but easy to view bc of my bad eyesight and chronic pain that makes intricate detailing difficult

Many people seem to believe that art is talent only and if you can’t draw now you will never be able to draw—but that isn’t true.

Talent can only get you so far. Hard work is what will carry you through.
