Today we celebrate the holy Martyr Arethas and 4,299 Martyrs in Arabia with him!
Through the sufferings which Your holy martyrs Arethas and his companions / endured for Your sake, O Lord, / we beseech You, O Lover of mankind: / heal all of our infirmities.
Those whom ignorance benighted, thou didst illumine with thy beams; and thou dost raise unto the divine heights, O Hilarion, our Father, all them that cry out: Height of ascetics, Rejoice!

You were a precious gift given to God before your conception. / You served Him like an angel from your infancy, O blessed one. / You were granted the charism to announce beforehand future things. / Therefore, we cry to you: “Rejoice, Samuel, Prophet of God and great high priest.”
Why isn't God the Father normally depicted in Orthodox iconography?
