11) Cotho: The scarred and battle damaged twin of Tez. A knight of the White Lotus and guardian of Marut, Cotho has lost an arm but remains a formidable warrior.

10) Tez: Knight of the White Lotus conscripted to Marut as muscle. He and his twin brother Cotho have devoted their lives to the holy city and the royal family within the White Gate.

9) Yasha: Marut's trusted wolf. The Rangers of the White Lotus are given a sacred wolf as a companion and guardian during their years in the wild. Yasha would die for Marut and he for her.

8) Marut: Ranger of the White Lotus Knights of Vara'Qur. On his last mission to deliver the ronin Eiko Red Koi to the holy city and an unknown fate.

4) Ainu: Eiko's mother, now a ghost bound to the haunted swamp where she fell to the Jorogumo, but still an ally to Eiko. Her presence is known by the scent of cherry blossoms.

3) The Red Woman: The Jorogumo, a yokai of the ancient world who fought in the long war until Ryujin fell and then fled to the caves under the eastern swamps.
