Recently saw this Altman film for the first time. Within his #70sFilm output, it's quite a departure from some of his 'bigger' films of the era: it has a small cast, so there's hardly any of the overlapping dialogue so typical of films like MASH, The Long Goodbye, Nashville, etc. https://t.co/YLDD79Shuy
Remembering Arthur Hill (1922–2006) on his birthday. Fine actor, particularly in this rare lead role as the head scientist in THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN (1971), a classic #SciFi #70sFilm directed by Robert Wise. Here, with James Olson, David Wayne, & Kate Reid. #BOTD #ArthurHill
Jason Robards & Barry Gordon, in A THOUSAND CLOWNS (1965). Their chemistry together is fantastic here! #BOTD #JasonRobards
'Attica! Attica!' While Sonny incites the crowd, FBI Agent Murphy looks on. Lance Henriksen as Murphy, in Sidney Lumet's DOG DAY AFTERNOON (1975), with Al Pacino as Sonny & James Broderick (Matthew's dad) as the lead FBI guy. #LanceHenriksen, #BOTD in 1940 in NYC.
Surprising that the use of 'base on the book' instead of 'based on the book' in the credits slipped by #StanleyKubrick. Remembering Terry Southern on his birthday. #TerrrySouthern (May 1, 1924 – October 29, 1995). Quotes via 'Notes from the War Room': https://t.co/DJT8PbXux7 3/3
'The suit jacket’s notch lapels roll gently over the top of the three-button front, creating a 3/2-roll effect. The ventless jacket has a welted breast pocket, straight flapped hip pockets, and three-button cuffs.' Here is @studiotstella's beautiful take on Michael's silk suit.
