@ItsArtNegative Depending on the stylisation you want, you can do sharp shadow like this, or smoother one.
Sharp shadow is easier to master. Cause you can easily set the object volume.
I like to do terminator, with two level of shadow and one or two level of light, with a melange of sharp/smooth

@ItsArtNegative You adapt it on your characters volumes and try to understand how the volume fit each with the others.
(I did it quick for an example, it’s not right haha)
After the easiest way is to put your base color layer under and put your shadows and light layer in … 2/3
