I work so hard on this comic stuff that sometimes I forget to just take it all in like damn, I really came up with all of this from my brain.

But I wasn’t satisfied with just her look. As the bougie member of the group I liked the idea of her having a little dog sidekick like she was carrying him in her purse. But he’d also help out in battles. And that’s when Doohickey was born.

When making Tech-Neek I wanted a smart tech person on the team. But I wanted her ethnicity to be something that folks wouldn’t expect a “tech” character to be from. So that’s why I decided to make her Samoan.

While making my team I wanted them to be diverse. But I also wanted at least one white person. I also wanted my most powerful member to be a woman. So that’s where I first came up with the concept for Moonshine.
