I cant be the only one to have noticed the abundance of Phallic imagery in FLCL. Lots of the phallus as a source of confidence and as a sexual symbol. Not to mention the phallus on Naotas head in episode 1, phallic baseball bats, ninamori eating ice cream, gun length jokes etc
