From the Sega Ages version of Golden Axe: what looks like the original Death=Adder opening illustration before its digitalization.
Found the Japanese spelling of Akira Nishimura's name in The Official art of Gradius II, at the bottom of this page on the Gradius series: 西村 彰.
Not sure if this means that he also did the flyer illustrations of the previous episodes.
Rannie & the mermaids, a Dragon's Crown illustration by Emika Kida / 木田恵美可, featured in the OST booklet and based on Hylas and the Nymphs, a 1896 painting by John William Waterhouse.
On a related note, in the 1969 movie Onna Sazen nuretsubame katategiri, Tange Sazen --the one-eyed and one-armed swordsman-- is played by a woman. That's probably the main reference for Baiken from Guilty Gear.
