Metal Slug 3 illustration used for the cover of the June 2000 issue of Arcadia, By Naohisa Yamaguchi:
Naohisa Yamaguchi left SNK sometimes around 2000, when the company shut down, and became freelance while still working with some of his former colleagues: he designed logos for Metal Slug 5, The Crystal of Kings, Samurai Shodown: Edge of Destiny, and NeoGeo Battle Coliseum.
Naohisa Yamaguchi also designed logos for games such as Samurai Shodown II, Last Blade 2, Garou: Mark of the Wolves and SNK Vs Capcom: Match of the Millenium (although he is not always properly credited in those games).
Naohisa Yamaguchi designed the logo of all The King of Fighters episodes released from 1994 to 2006, with the notable exception of KOF 2002 (but including the 2 GBA episodes as well as KOF Neowave and KOX XI).
