For those that don't know, there's a Nightmare Before Christmas for PS2 made by Capcom that uses the Devil May Cry engine. And it looks gorgeous!

In both Iron Tank and Jackal the last boss is a turret-ridden palace, after it's destroyed, a huge tank appears. In both games you play as vehicles, and both came out in 1988. Is this some kind of 80s trope I'm unaware of?
