However, the world is so dangerous, and the sanctity of the checkpoint so tempting, that many knights never leave, and become empty husks instead.

I worked with the artist on almost every hidden reference in The Painted World, except one. All he would tell me is "there's a binary code hidden here somewhere", and yesterday, with Twitch chat's help, I finally found it.
