in 1891, Manager Alf Jacobs opened the Company's establishment in South Mall https://t.co/ZqLrcHmVWV. There was also a mikveh with separate entrance for the Jewish community. Baths closed pre-1956, & building now houses Restaurant.

in 1868 the Brighton opened in West St—designed by Freemason architect Horatio Nelson Goulty for the Brighton Turkish Bath Co Ltd whose secretary & all its original directors were also Masons. https://t.co/S0aaHjg6kG. In 1909 it became the Academy cinema.

Does anyone recognise this strange image of a Turkish bath which appears to be in Jefferson Way or perhaps Terson Way somewhere? Or is it possibly an image from a video game? Please RT. Any help much appreciated.

Yes, the one by Montagu Williams, later a magistrate, and F C Burnand, later to write Cox aand Box with Arthur Sullivan and become editor of Punch. First produced in 1861, barely 10 months after 1st London Victorian Turkish bath opened—but not at the Wimbledon Theatre!
