fingers crossed for an easy summer ☀️

i've got a huge soft spot for illustrations with this upper ovular region for text -- it's done a lot, and it's done for a reason! the illustration is made with this area in mind -- it doesn't reach up till almost the top, but it carves out a space for a title.

@soverykerri's design of Courtney Gould's book covers are phenomenal. the text isn't treated like an inconvenience, it's incorporated into the illustration and directs your eyes through the art from top to bottom.
