#DoYouKnow British Govt had imposed a ban on the book 'Pather Dabi' by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay on the grounds of it being seditious!!
Rabindranath Tagore had then supported the ban as well.

The infamous ban was only lifted in 1939, a year after his demise on 16 January 1938.

Folklore link #लोहड़ी to the tale of Dulla Bhatti. He lived in #Punjab during the reign of Emperor Akbar.
He is regarded as a hero for rescuing girls from being forcibly sold in slave market, 2 among them were Sundri & Mundri who became theme of Punjab folklore.
