I've seen lots of great blue herons this summer. I learned that they often perch in trees.

When I started birdwatching, I didn't think I'd see or hear an owl any time soon. But, in mid May, my mom spotted a couple great horned owlets, and I was able to drive there in time! So, the great horned owl made it onto my life list.

@Nambroth I do a bunch of styles inspired by birds! Although I paint all kinds of pet portraits, birds are always my favorite. I’m working on painting my birding life list- the warblers and woodpeckers below are part of that.

Nerdy Birdy Character
Shadow
The Shadow Nerds are the elusive twin to the Rainbow Nerds. They come out after a storm has passed. There is a chance they will cross paths with the Rainbow Nerds, but they both desperately try to avoid each other, as they are terrified of the other
Nerdy Birdy Character
Rainbow
The size of these harmless Rainbow Nerds varies greatly depending on the size of the storm. When there is no storm, they can shrink to the size of an ant!
As they mature, more and more color combinations appear on their bodies.
Nerdy Birdy Character
Fly Agaric
Fly Agaric Nerds are friendly and happy, and are oblivious to any harm they accidentally cause. Their evil twin is the Cordyceps Nerd, who’s home is a cave in the mountains behind the blue mushroom field.
Last month's Patreon ink painting was a black woodpecker.
