I love seeing process images for art. They give insight into how artists go from idea to final.
You see their roadmap and then how it impacted the tight detail of the final!

Miguel has been out here hustling, even making fanart works 5-6 years ago that you might have missed. They're all just incredible artworks. I'm overjoyed he is finally in our little Magic art niche of the art world.
He lives in the Philippines and has been doing comic art covers for a little bit here.
What he conveys so powerfully is the classic facial emotions, the interactions between characters. It's visceral and fun, not unlike seeing Norman Rockwell work.
This mini thread is about @merkymerx, who was just announced that has a Magic the Gathering alternate cover of their new Comic line. https://t.co/IAXb2uhHVc

Sidharth "Cat"urvedi strikes again.
Gods' Hall Guardian only has this *one* sketch. The final is all digital. He often has prints for sale too. I'd get both and frame them as a diptych. Could be mega fun.

So @andrewkmar has these the original traditional sketches in auction ending Sunday and sometimes it's hard to tell how they worked toward the final. He made a gif to show you. Pretty dang cool.

This is one of those assignments that's like, oh biscuits, it's gonna be a muddy mess so fast. But if you have good reference, you can play with what's logical.
Because if you make that elf too seen, it'll be confused as a creature card. That's what an art director looks for.
