The LMS' forgotten CME - With Fowler's retirement in 1931, Derby Carriage & Wagon Superintendent Ernest Lemon was thrust forth. Promoted to LMS VP in 1932, his only two orders were built under Stanier though Lemon would distinguish himself by modernising the LMS bureaucratically.
