I actually really like the shape of a lot of the Deepshadow gear, it's just that black isn't my man's color AND the sets dye rather badly ... I would 100% put this on him /if it weren't for the red/.

There's a reason why, as described before, he's, in lore-wise fighting style, part tank, part healer:
because when he was 'just' the healer, he found too many had to die to keep him (you know who enemies target 1st, right?) & so he learned to protect himself /and/ others.
