This film absolutely deserves to have mass 40th anniversary screenings next year with Q&A from the living cast, if they're up for it.
Not sure why I'd never seen this before, what a great little cop thriller. An intriguing mystery, good handling of the grit, grime and strange/sordid types of the backstreets of 70's L.A. Matthau was a master of deadpan wit and cynicism, makes for skilfull absurdist levity.
Never seen this before, 15 minutes in and I'm already getting a strong whiff of angry, anti-bureaucratic, give-no-quarter policing a la Dirty Harry. Which is always deliciously entertaining.
I'm a fan of Black Mass, it's not one of my favourite gangland flicks ever but it's solid. First time watching this doc and, as per usual, a lot of the finer details are a thousand times worse than all of the things that were dramatised. Utterly irredeemable, demonic individual
I dig the hyper-stylized Florida aesthetic, but it can't decide whether it's outright satirizing shallow hedonism & gangsta adulation, or doing a seriocomic coming of age crime film. Problem with the latter is all of the characters are highly unlikeable & developed shittily
The fact that this isn't an Academy contender is bollocks #TheLastDuel #film #Oscars
Very impressed by Wolfwalkers. Wondrously animated with a great voice cast, it's an enchanting and deeply moving experience, and I actually loved its utterly mad 'revisionism' of Cromwell's tenure in Ireland. First Cartoon Saloon film I've seen, shall be checking out more #film
