@jongraywb Story goes that Kojima's son was a fan of the BN series, leading to a cameo appearance in 4 and a link-based crossover in 5 (which is super fun!). As Shinbok was only in Japan the content in 6 was cut entirely.

@SIFpod @AlexSchmidty @KatieGoldin Bonus tidbits for Takeaway #1! Unova from the Generation 5 games of Pokemon was heavily based on New York City. With each generation having some of the first wild Pokemon a type of bird, Pidove was a natural fit. It's naming is much more interesting given they're the same.
