Since there's a day for everything now, looks like it's #pixelartday 🟦. So here's a few of my favorite pieces I've done.
James wrote this amazing vector drawing tool in Pico8 that allowed me to create these, and export a string we could use to pull up each portrait without using a up all the tile data. 💙
I was just reminded of the fun vector portraits I made for Hazel May Saves the Halloween Soiree with my buddy @jamesid , it's unfortunate we weren't able to get all of them in but here they are!

@CapmTrevo @ohjefframos Also the hyper detailed style of a lot of the PC98 RPGs, visual novels, etc. Lots of huge sprites with a very unique color depth to them. Almost too many to name, even the eroge games have a crazy amount of care put into the design. (sorry it's hard to find SFW quality screens)
@CapmTrevo @ohjefframos I have a huge 💙 for the 8bit era dirty & creatively detailed style. Creative use of dithering and nice sharp contrasts make them both beautiful and easy to read on the play-ability end. Games like Batman titles, Shatterhand, Vice: Project Doom, and a bunch of the Natsume games.
@HyMyNameIsMatt While not an exhaustive list with some important ones left out like FF6, four that left a huge impact on me are Bubble Bobble, The Legend of Zelda, Blaster Master, and Vanguard.
