We never really see modern Ares…vulnerable, or in a vulnerable position that we see anyways. That’s why this panel sort of caught me off guard. Like, he’s tucked snug into bed, we don’t get moments like that for him often. It makes sense why we don’t but this is cute.

Ares and Wonder Woman have fought one another for decades.

From Mars egging on the Axis powers in the 40s, to Ares threatening to plunge the world into endless war in the 80s, to him honestly trying to do better but going about “Justice” in all the wrong ways in recent years

So in honour of her 80th anniversary, instead of Wonder Woman, I will of course be talking all about Ares 😊

While Wonder Woman made her debut in All Star Comics #8 in 1941, Ares, soon to become Mars, wouldn’t appear in Wonder Woman comics until Wonder Woman #1 in 1942.
