Uncommercial idea time. Is there a reality in either of the big two's multiverses where characters that were created specifically for a particular fad were allowed to age in real time, but the more timeless characters archetypes maintain the typical sliding scale continuity?

It'd be hilarious to read a story where a SHIELD agent (or equivalent) is showing disdain for a hero that gassed out chasing a crook.
