Evocative—and ambitiously cinematic—ATARI 2600 box art, in that typical Atari house style: a dreamy montage made up of sketchy pencil lines, acrylic, gouache, and maybe oils.

My favorite has always been that first one, for BASIC PROGRAMMING (1979): the programmer as a God.

From E. C. Segar’s great POPEYE comic strip. Segar really was a master at these strips. They’re fast, funny, have inventive twists and interesting characters, suspense, punchlines, everything a newspaper strip should have. They’re quickie masterclasses at storytelling.
